Mile Marker Zero
For some, Mile Marker Zero is the beginning, and for others it's the end. US1 runs just over 2200 miles ending in Fort Kent Maine. Key West is attached to the mainland of Florida by 43 bridges. Virtually every one who has traveled on the east coast of the United States has in fact traveled on US1 and it has almost as many aliases as it does cities it runs through. 
In fact, to trace the development of this part of the country is to follow US1! As see in the images, US 1 starts right here and journeys a long and scenic route to the Canadian border.
